The Technical Advisors

CreatiVasc Medical also utilizes the expertise and guidance of a seasoned group of medical and clinical leaders that comprise the company’s Technical Advisors. This body focuses its attention to the clinical issues associated with the medical needs, device design and engineering as well as FD A testing and approval. The Technical Advisors also oversee the awareness-building and adoption of CreatiVasc devices into the vascular surgery and dialysis communities. To date, there are three members of the CreatiVasc Technical Advisors.

Spence M. Taylor, M.D., FACS

imageDr. Taylor is Academic Chairman of the Department of Surgical Education, University Medical Center of the Greenville Hospital System. He is a nationally known expert in Vascular Surgery. He has published over 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals, several of which are vascular access related. He is an Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering at Clemson University and is a Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of South Carolina, School of Medicine. Dr. Taylor received his B.S. degree from Clemson University and his M.D. degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed a residency in general surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina and a fellowship in vascular surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Taylor is assisting Dr. Cull with the animal studies that are evaluating the Hemoaccess Valve System which is being performed at Clemson University, Godley-Snell Research Center.

Eugene M. Langan, III, M.D., FACS

imageDr. Langan is Chief, Section of Vascular Surgery and Program Director of the Vascular Surgery Fellowship of the University Medical Center, Greenville Hospital System. He has published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals on a variety of topics related to Vascular Surgery and Bioengineering. He is an Adjunct Professor of Bioengineering at Clemson University and is a Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of South Carolina, School of Medicine. Dr. Langan received his B.S degree from University of Scranton and his M.D. degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at the Guthrie Clinic and a fellowship in vascular surgery at Geisinger Medical Center. Dr. Langan has extensive experience in both clinical and basic science research. His participation in the animal research and clinical trials will be invaluable as the Hemoaccess Valve System moves through testing.

Hugh H. Trout III, M.D., FACS

Dr. TroutDr. Trout is the founder and Chairman of E.V.A. Corporation, a medical device company focused on the design and fabrication of devices intended for use in the endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms. In addition, he serves as a board member for a company developing new approaches to the standard hemodialysis technique. He is a well-known and respected vascular surgeon who practices in the Washington, DC area.  While most of the time goes to his private practice, Dr. Trout serves as Clinical Professor of Surgery at George Washington University Medical Center.  He also serves as a Consultant in Vascular Surgery at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health and at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington DC. Dr. Trout received an MS degree from Washington and Lee University and an M.D. from Duke University.  He completed his surgical residency at UCLA.  After residency Dr. Trout completed Fellowships in Surgical Research at UCLA and in Vascular Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center.
